Tremor Felt on Valentine’s Day

An earth tremor was felt yesterday morning, caused by an earthquake of magnitude 6.7 on the Richter scale, just off the coast of SW Greece.

The Seismic Monitoring Unit of the Physics Department recorded the earthquake at 11.10am local time and located it at 37.0N, 21.7E. A second, small shock was also recorded at 11.38am.
