The Archbishop, Mgr Paul Cremona, OP on Friday will preside at the celebration of the Eucharist during which five seminarians will ask the Church to accept them as candidates for ordination to the diaconate and the presbyterate.

The concelebration is being held at Kalkara parish church on Friday at 6pm.

The five seminarians who are in the fifth year of formation are Noel Borg from the parish of St Helen, Birkirkara; Marc Andrè Camilleri from the parish of Our Saviour, Lija; Mark Ellul from St Sebastian parish, Qormi; Stefan Galea from the parish of The Nativity of Our Lady, Naxxar; and Emmanuel Schembri from the parish of Christ the King, Paola.

The five seminarians will publicly manifest their will to offer themselves to the Church to serve in the ministerial priesthood. The Archbishop, in the name of the Church, will accept this offering with joy and call on the candidates to ensure that during the two remaining years prior to their ordination they prepare themselves to worthily receive Holy Orders.

The Christian community is asked to pray for the new candidates for the priesthood.
