The Malta Transport Authority has called on Żebbuġ local council in Gozo to reinstate all pavement extension works in the central part of Marsalforn, which the council carried out over the past weeks, because these were not covered by the necessary permits from the authority.

In a letter to the council, the authority gave it 15 days to reinstate the footpaths according to their original alignment and condition.

The authority also informed the council that it would not be carrying out further consultation talks on the matter until all works had been satisfactorily completed.
