Betsson, one of the leading iGaming companies in Europe, confirmed its long-term commitment to its operations in Malta yesterday with the official opening its enlarged premises in Ta’ Xbiex.

The offices, which were inaugurated by the Minister of Finance Tonio Fenech, are designed to deliver the best in office environment to a company experiencing a massive growth all across Europe in a very exciting industry, the online gaming industry.

Betsson has been operating in the gaming industry since the early 1960s. The development of Internet radically changed the market arena for betting companies, and today Betsson is a global key player in online gaming.

2007 was yet another exciting year for the Betsson group, characterized by continued strong growth. The turnover of the group grew a staggering 121 per cent, as did the number of registered clients by 83 per cent to a total of 996,000.

New products like Betsson Bingo, Trader and Games were launched, and the company expanded to new markets in Germany, France, Spain, Italy and Greece. The company also increased its focus on Responsible Gaming, and a 24/7 support line has been established.

Betsson has had its operational head office in Malta since 2006, with the sites www.betsson.com and www.casinoeuro.com wholly owned and operated by Betsson Malta Ltd. In less than two years after establishing locally, Betsson Malta has grown from 19 employees to an impressive 101 employees, representing more than 15 European countries.

The Betsson Group employs 140 staff.
