bwin, the world leader in online gaming and entertainment, has further extended its sports sponsorship with the high profile MotoGP World Championship by signing an agreement to be the title sponsor of the British round of the series at the famous Donington Park racing circuit.

The deal for the bwin.com British Grand Prix, to be held on June 22, covers both the 2008 and 2009 racing seasons.

The title sponsorship deal for the bwin.com British Grand Prix is an addition to the existing title sponsorships of the major MotoGP events at Jerez, Spain, in March and Estoril, Portugal, in April as well as TV track advertising at the Czech circuit at Brno, Czech Republic, in August.

The deal underlines the importance the company places on this spectacular and exciting brand of motor sports that now enjoys impressive global popularity.

The signing of the contract further cements bwin as one of the main sponsoring partners of Dorna, the rights-holder of MotoGP and gives both partners a strong sense of continuity throughout the racing season.

Strong bwin branding presence at Donington Park

bwin will have a very strong branding presence at Donington Park, which attracted some 130,000 fans for the British Grand Prix in 2007. This includes various advertising supports, all within visual range of television coverage. There will also be banners in the pit lanes and the starting line wall as well as dominant branding on the podium, at the press conference area and television interview backdrops. The bwin grid and podium girls will also bring a touch of real glamour to the company’s sponsorship presence at the circuit.

One of Britain’s most popular motor racing venues

Like Jerez, Estoril and Brno, Donington Park is a racing circuit with a huge public following and a great history, making it a very attractive venue for a strong bwin presence. The circuit, first opened back in 1931, has been continually upgraded, the latest of which included a €6.25 million investment in 2004 when the Grand Prix circuit was resurfaced and the pits and paddock complex were completely redeveloped.

The bwin.com British Grand Prix at Donington Park will combine tradition, history, popularity and modern facilities in one event.
