Shuttles Badminton Club president Norman Spiteri was recently presented with a new kit by Emanuel Gatt, on behalf of club sponsors Fort Blocks Co Ltd.
The ceremony took place at St Aloysius College, where the club holds twice-weekly training sessions.
As part of its initiative to promote badminton, the club will be launching a summer school for beginners, starting on Tuesday 1 July at 7.30pm. The course is open to players aged 10 to 18 years. There will be eight weekly sessions, each lasting 90 minutes, and will be held every Tuesday at St Aloysius College sports hall. A qualified coach will be in charge of each training session.
Those taking part will be able to test themselves in a competition during an extra ninth session, to be held on Tuesday 26 August. The course fee is e25 (Lm10.73), which includes a club tee-shirt and use of all equipment.
