Football: Under 21 Side in action against Liechtenstein today

The Malta Under-21 team will be in action today at 7.30pm when they are due to meet their counterparts from Liechtenstein in a friendly international at Ta’ Qali National Stadium.

For the cadets, the match against Liechtenstein will give coach Mark Miller the opportunity to gauge the level of his players’ physical fitness during this early part of the season, as well as experiment with his tactical options prior to the team’s next competitive engagement against France in Boulogne-en-Mer on 5 September in the last UEFA U-21 commitment.

Coach Mark Miller will be selecting his side from the following squad of players:

Goalkeepers: Henry Bonello (Sliema), Jurgen Micallef (Vittoriosa), Glenn Zammit (Gudja).

Defenders: Andrei Agius, Edmond Agius (Valletta), Steve Bezzina (Valletta), Steve Borg (Mosta), Be Camilleri (Hibs), Ryan Camilleri (Pietà), Clayton Failla (Hibs), Tyrone Farrugia (Msida), Duncan Pisani (Floriana).

Midfielders: Matthew Bartolo (Sliema), Warren Chircop (Tarxien), Dyson Falzon (Valletta), Dominic Mifsud (Pietà), John Mintoff (Sliema), Thomas Paris (Birkirkara), Mark Scerri (Sliema), Joseph Zerafa (Birkirkara).

Strikers: Angus Buhagiar (Birkirkara), Edward Herrera (Melita), Steve Meilak (Hamrun), Ian Zammit (Valletta), Dylan Zarb (Floriana).
