William Vella was again the protagonist in achieving a well merited MQS score to win comfortably the air-rifle event at Bidnija.

He shot extremely well under adverse conditions, to register his second consecutive Olympic MQS of 572/600 of this season. Moreover he shot an excellent final of 101.4 for total final score of 673.4points.

Lawrence Darmanin followed in second place with a score of 556 and a 96.0 in the final whilst Charlo Chircop, a budding young shooter, overcame the challenge of Annabel Borg (the last competition winner) to register a 538 + 96.1 score to secure third placing.

The air-pistol event was not well contested this time, but Ray Cacciattolo made the best of it by beating Martin Grech by some 50 points for a score of 541 and a 94.4 in the final.

The competitions were refereed by Gino Galea and assisted by Bernardette Chircop and Steve Azzopardi.
