The Bank of Valletta Winter League gets under way with a bang tomorrow morning at the Tal-Qroqq national pool.
In fact, in the opening match, the two big rivals of the game, Sliema ASC and Neptunes, will be facing each other to set the ball rolling. The match starts at 10am.
It should, as usual, be a keen match where Neptunes will start their defence of last year’s title against the summer champions and the KO winners of last season.
It will be followed by the clash between Sirens and Marsascala at 11.15am with the final encounter being the San-Giljan-Exiles match which starts at 12.30pm.
Also taking part in the competition is the National Under 20 team which will not be in action this weekend. But matches played by the six clubs against this side will not carry any points with regard to classification.
The seven teams will be taking part in a one round robin league. The first four placed teams at the end of the round will then play a further round to determine the winner of the winter title and the final classification from one to four. The teams placed five to seven will play a further round to determine the final classification from five to seven.
