A new age group record was set by 10-year-old Neptunes swimmer Neil Muscat in 50m free during last Sunday morning’s meeting.
Muscat stopped the clock at 31.49 seconds to improve on the age group record of 32.07 held by Matthew Zammit (IASIS) since July 2006.
He was competing in the fourth Age Group meeting organised by the ASA at the National Pool.
MOC Director of Sports Mark Cutajar was among those who attended the meeting. He had the opportunity to talk to coaches and swimmers.
Swimmers from the national team, IASIS, Neptunes, Sirens,Sliema and Birkirkara St. Joseph braved the cold weather and participated in various races. These time trials were a good opportunity for all the swimmers to assess their performance and improvement in preparation for the 16th Easter International Meeting being held in Malta between 16 and 18 April.
