Malta Independent Thursday, 14 May 2009, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

The Malta Football Association is striving hard to boost the level of football coaching in our island. In fact, after the recent successful organisation of a Futsal coaching course, it will be organising yet another coaching course of a very high level over the coming days, once again under the auspices of FIFA.

The next course in programme is a Women's Football coaching course which will be held at the Centenary Hall between Friday 22nd and Sunday 24th May 2009.

Vanessa Martinez, a FIFA Women's Football Instructor, will be travelling to Malta to extend her expertise to the local participants of this Course. A former element of the Mexican Women's National Team, she has played for several women's football teams in Mexico, USA and Germany. Currently, she is an active player of the German Team Leipziger FC 07.

A current PhD Student in Sports Science with specialisation in the 'Physiological Demands of Women's Football' at the University of Leipzig, she has also completed a Master of Arts in Kinesiology with Specialization in Exercise Physiology at the University of Texas, Austin USA.

Applications forms, duly completed, are to be returned to the MFA Technical Centre
