Following the success of exporting Twistees under the Tastees brand into the EU since 2007, Twistees, the all-time favourite snack which has been satisfying the taste buds of Maltese customers for over 40 years, is now finding its way to the market in Libya. The first container was shipped to Libya on 25 May 2009.

Advanced discussions are also underway to meet other markets’ demands.

“Since it was first produced, over 40 years ago, Twistees has always been an unmatched winner on the Maltese market, becoming a staple snack in our culture,” said Diane Calleja of Darrell Lea Foods. “To keep up with the trends of the times, which are certainly more health-conscious, Twistees were also the first snack to be baked and not fried, with a later ‘Lite’ version added which is lower in salt and also fat.”

Twistees, the tasty, rice-based, cheese-flavoured snack, produced by Darrell Lea Foods, a subsidiary of Strand Palace Agency Ltd, is complemented by a range of flavoured variants: Tastees, Twistees Light, Smokey Barbeque Twistees and Chicken Twistees.
