After successive years of hosting works by Malta’s foremost artists, Bank of Valletta’s Operations Centre is now a space for the artistic creativity of its own employees.
The Centre’s foyer, bathed in natural light, has in fact been transformed into a temporary art gallery and is currently hosting a collective art exhibition featuring paintings by eleven BOV staff members.
This is effectively the first time that a group of BOV employees are exhibiting their art together.
Bank of Valletta CEO Tonio Depasquale met the artists during the official inauguration of the exhibition held on Friday 11 September and was impressed with the quality of the works presented.
“Bank of Valletta has become synonymous with the promotion of local art and culture.
We are strong supporters of well-established as well as emerging artists and have also hosted numerous retrospective exhibitions featuring works by many of Malta’s most distinguished artists inside our Centre’s spacious foyer. However, it is with a special pleasure that we are now displaying the works by members of the BOV family, especially knowing that we are giving many of them the opportunity to exhibit their works for the first time.”
“This exhibition is bound to be very well received and we foresee that this initiative will be the first in a long series, where BOV Centre will be transformed into a centre for Art and Culture hosting artistic initiatives throughout the year,” concluded Mr Depasquale.
The participating artists are Stephanie Agius, Rachel Bartoli, Gordon Borg, Charles Camilleri, Mario Delia, Mary Rita Farrugia, Doris Mangion, Ethelbert Perini, Caroline Sammut, Joanne Schembri and Joanne Sciberras Mizzi.
