Twelve matches will be played over the weekend as the Premier clubs enter the fray.
Four are being played this afternoon and eight are to be played tomorrow. The venues being used are the Centenary Stadium at Ta’ Qali and the Victor Tedesco Stadium at Hamrun.
As already indicated, the Premier League enter the fray in this round and it is interesting to note that there are two all-Premier matches in this round.
These are the Hibernians-Qormi and Msida SJ-Tarxien clashes being played tomorrow, the former at the Centenary Stadium and the other at the Victor Tedesco Stadium.
Sliema, against San Gwann, Floriana against Mqabba, Dingli against Vittoriosa and Hamrun, against St George’s, should be considered as firm favourites to advnce to the next round.
In other matches, Zurrieq will be facing Mellieha, St Patrick come up against Zebbug R., St Andrews face Gharghur, Siggiewi play against Mosta, Melita cross swords with Pieta H. and Lija face Birzebbuga SP.
