Court: Couple Jailed for dealing in cannabis

A British couple have been found guilty of dealing in and being in possession of cannabis. The two had been charged along with two Serbs and a Maltese man over a total record haul of almost half a ton of cannabis in September last year.

Jason Lee Holland, 39, was given a 42-month jail term and a e4,698 fine, and his partner, Sheri Anne Steedman, 38, was given a 35-month jail term and a e4,680 fine.

Both were found guilty of dealing in and being in possession of cannabis, and Holland alone was also found guilty of being in possession of heroin and assaulting three police officers.

The court was presided over by magistrate Lawrence Quintano and police inspector Dennis Theuma prosecuted.

Lawyers Veronique Dalli and Jose Herrera appeared for Holland, while legal aid Renzo Porsella Flores appeared for Steedman.
