The final session of the third Malta International Hit Song Festival will be held at the Centru Nazzjonali Laburista theatre in Hamrun on 30 April, as part of the Labour Party May Day celebrations.

This was announced by Norman Hamilton, CEO of Hamilton Travel at a press conference at the Grand Hotel Excelsior.

The Malta Hit Song Festival is currently being aired as part of the Celebrity Sunday series on One TV. Twelve countries, including Lithuania, UK, Ireland, Italy, Cyprus and the Canary Islands, will be participating in the Malta International Hit Song Festival final night together with 15 local singers.

Special international guest singers Feminen, who will be representing Croatia during the Eurovision Song Contest in Oslo next month, and the British group The Rizing will be participating. The 1973 Eurovision Song Contest winner, Anne Marie David, and last year’s winner of the Malta International Hit Song Festival, Neville Refalo, will also be performing.

On 1 May, all foreign artists will be performing during an extravaganza cabaret dinner at The Grand Hotel Excelsior – International Star Night Show. Tickets for the event are at €28 and available from Centru Nazzjonali Laburista, Hamrun.

A number of last year’s International Hit Song Festival participants classified at the top of local commercial radio charts. Such was Talitha, who came second in last year’s festival and was also a Bay Music Award 2009 nominee. Meanwhile, Marilena won a festival in Alexandria with her song last year while Neville Refalo represented Malta on the Universong Festival 2009 in Canary Islands, classifying as the Best International Artist. The World Association of Festivals and Artists (WAFA) supported these singers’ participation.
