Anyone interested in buying the Selmun Palace property has to find over €8,400,000.
According to Finance Minister Tonio Fenech, the highly desirable property cannot be bought for less than €8,400,000. He said this when answering a question made by PN backbencher Censu Galea in parliament.
The price is being demanded by Air Malta, the current owners of the property, who included a clause in the tender document, stipulating that offers below that amount will not be considered.
The final sum offered by the winning bidder will be shared between the government and Air Malta as stipulated in the tender document, a copy of which was tabled in parliament.
Mr Galea asked the question following adverts promoting the sale of the hotel in local newspapers.
