The yearly Starwood Regional Round Table Meetings, this year held at the brand new W Hotel Barcelona, saw the Westin Malta team win the most prestigious award ranking the property amongst the best top performing Starwood Hotels and Resorts in Europe, Africa and Middle East.

The Executive Team of The Westin Dragonara Resort attended the annual ‘Round Tables’ conference wherein the current year’s performance indexes and future strategies for the hotel were reviewed in detail by the divisional Starwood President for Europe Africa and Middle East Roeland Vos and his team, together with Vice President and Regional Director for Italy and Central Mediterranean Robert Koren.

The meetings and workshops were brought to a grand finale during a celebration event held in the Ballroom of the new W Hotel in Barcelona. The evening was particularly memorable for the Westin Dragonara Resort Team as they carried away the ‘EAME Journey Award 2009’ – Drive outstanding results margin performance. This top acknowledgment by Starwood was presented to The Westin Team by Mr. Vos & Mr. Koren.

The award recognises The Westin Dragonara Resort’s 2009 results, that notwithstanding the economical turmoil suffered globally, managed to exceed expectations as it recorded the highest Gross Operating Profit Growth in EAME for 2009.
