As part of the European Commission’s awareness raising campaign For Diversity Against Discrimination, known also as FDAD campaign, art students aged between 13 – 21 years are being invited to take part in the third edition of the Cartoons for Diversity competition and exhibition in Malta.
Entries must be original cartoons exploring the positive impact of diversity as well as the negative effects of discrimination in one or more of the following aspects: racial or ethnic origin, religion or belief, disability, age and sexual orientation.
For the first time since its inception, this year’s competition has two categories: one category for established and non-established artists and another category specifically for students. Entries are to be handed in on weekdays between 8.30am and 4.30pm at BPC International Limited, BPC House, J. Gasan Street, Pieta by not later than Friday 14 January 2011.
Participants may submit a maximum of five artworks, out of which an experienced selection panel will select the exhibits that will be exposed in a public exhibition during February.
The most original cartoon in the Students’ category will be awarded €400 with the runner-up receiving €200.
