The draws for the finals of the Swedish U*Bet HorseRacing championship were held at the premises of the Malta Racing Club in Marsa.
All Swedish-born horses registered with the club were eligible to participate for this championship, which started last month with a number of qualifying heats. Five exciting finals are scheduled in the coming weeks.
The finals for the Copper and Bronze classes will be held on Thursday 10 February, while the Silver, Gold and Premier finals are scheduled for Sunday 13 February.
During the draws, Dr Matthew Brincat, the Malta Racing Club chairman, said “the Malta Racing Club is very proud to organise this championship for the third consecutive time, which once again proved to be very popular with local horse racing enthusiasts.”
Dr Brincat added: “The level of racing in the semi-finals and heats stages was of the highest levels, and this augurs well for an exciting finals day, as all five finals should be keenly contested by all participants.”
Mr Mario Cassar, Maltco Lotteries Ltd’s General Director, said that “he was very pleased with the outcome and interest shown in the last few weeks for this Horseracing Championship sponsorship. ”
U*BET horseracing has been in operation for over three years with a link to Swedish horse races shown live in some of Maltco Lotteries outlets both in the afternoon and evenings on weekdays with one of the most renowned race V75, held every Saturday.
Mr Cassar added “this is the third year that Maltco and the Malta Racing Clubwe working together in promoting Swedish horse racing in Malta.”
After the draw both MCassar and Dr Brincat thanked all participants and wished the best of luck to all owners and drivers involved.
