Jazz On the fringe

Malta Independent Sunday, 3 July 2011, 00:00 Last update: about 15 years ago

This is the first edition of the ‘OFF’ Festival – five free concerts in five different venues on the island, endorsed by the Malta Jazz Festival.

These peripheral events will showcase mainly local talent, with foreign participation as well. Some of the featured artists include vocalist Francesca Galea, percussionist Charles Gatt, saxophone player Robin Nicaise, young talent Carlo Muscat and established saxophone player Walter Vella with his world jazz project “Trania”. A masterclass at the Euro Institute of Music in Hamrun by the jazz festival director and musician Sandro Zerafa will open the Fringe Activities.
