Malta Independent Wednesday, 23 May 2012, 00:00 Last update: about 12 years ago

On Tuesday 15 and Wednesday 16 May, the Malta High Commission participated in the 53rd CFAB International Spring Fair 2012, which was held at Kensington Town Hall, London.

The International Spring Fair is an annual event, in its 53rd year, organised by Children and Families Across Borders (CFAB) where the London diplomatic missions of over 100 countries exhibit and sell typical products of their countries.

CFAB is an international child protection and family welfare charity. It works in partnership with branches and agencies all over the world to resolve family problems that have an international perspective. CFAB is staffed by a professional team, specialised in the field of social welfare and international law – who deal effectively with difficult matters such as children in state care, protection of children and vulnerable adults, child abduction and child trafficking. This year, the Malta stand was selling handmade glass by Mdina Glass; silver filigree from Super Gold Jewellery and Saliba’s Gold and Silversmith; ġbejniet from Malta Dairy Products Ltd (Benna); Tal-Furnar Galletti and Crix snacks from Consolidated Biscuit Co. Ltd, Tastees from Darrell Lea Foods Ltd; wines from Emanuel Delicata Winemaker Ltd and Montekristo Estates; Cisk lager and Kinnie from Simonds Farsons Cisk plc. The stand generated a lot of interest and proved to be one of the busiest. All proceeds were donated to the Children and Families Across Borders Registered Charity.

The Royal Patron of CFAB, HRH Princess Alexandra accompanied by the International Spring Fair Chairman, Mr Douglas Lewis CBE visited all the stands at the fair.
