In a very short sitting yesterday, the Mepa board approved the sanctioning of the Birkirkara Football Club nursery football ground at tal-Infetti in B’Kara, next door to the much larger St Aloysius ground.
The board had discussed the application on 9 August but sent it back to the architect for an improved design.
Actually, as the architect pointed out yesterday, although he had applied for sanctioning, there was little to sanction as the ground had been opened by Minister Lorry Sant in 1981 and he took a photo of a plaque commemorating this to show.
Nevertheless, he changed his previous designs to include the room in the front garden which used to serve as a snack bar of sorts and he fixed the floodlights so that they do no disturb the neighbours.
