An exhibition of contemporary artist Alexander Telin, organized and supported by Film Production Services Malta in collaboration with the Russian Centre for Science and Culture, is being held at the at the Russian Centre for Science and Culture until 6 May.

Alexander Telinis a leading representative of the Moscow School of Painting. His work follows three painting schools; traditional Byzantine icon, Academic and French impressionism. He is also an Art Director and Production Designer for the film industry.

Born in Moscow in 1966, Alexander Telin graduated from Moscow State Academic Art Institute VasiliySurikov, from the faculty of easel painting. He started exhibiting his works in 1984 where he was awarded diplomas of Union of Russian Painters and Russian Academy of Art. In 1991 A. Telin became a Member of Union of Russian Painters and the Society of Painters and recently become a member of  the Malta Society of Arts.

“Malta is much more beautiful than everything written about it, says the artist.  “Malta is a country of mysterious miracles and fairy tales and plan to organise a series of exhibitions around the world with artists from other countries who have been inspired to paint Malta.”

Alexander Telin has captured the diversity of the architecture, the friendliness of the people of Malta, and its sounds and peace.

The exhibition’s opening was enhanced by three musicians with their beautiful melodious performances inspired by the pictures. The musicians were Olga Bobrovnikova, a Belgian pianist,Roman Yusipey,a Russian accordionist and Igor Epstein, a violinist from Germany.

The exhibition will be open to the public at the Russian Centre for Science and Culture, 36 Merchants Street, Valletta until 6 May, opening hours are between 9am and 1pm and between 4pm and 7pm Monday to Friday.
