New chairman to relinquish his job with National Orchestra

Malta Independent Thursday, 16 May 2013, 10:10 Last update: about 13 years ago

Newly-appointed chairman of the National Orchestra Mro Sigmund Mifsud has told The Malta Independent online, that due to his new role he will no longer be a full-time member of the orchestra.

Following the announcement of the new National Orchestra board on Wednesday questions were raised due to the fact that there was no mention that Mro Mifsud, a Labour candidate in the last general election, will be relinquishing his post as full-time trumpeter.

Contacted by this portal to clarify his position, Mro Mifsud immediately declared that it is obvious that his new role makes it untenable for him to remain a full-time member of the orchestra.

The other board members are Ruth Vella Micallef, Mark Attard Montalto, Paul Abela, Maria Frendo and Alexei Galea Cavalazzi.
