Italian artists from Milan, performed a ‘Concerto all’Italiana’ on the occasion of the Republic Day of Italy and of the 200th anniversary of the birth of the great Italian composer Giuseppe Verdi.

Held at the Manoel Theatre in Valletta, world renowned baritone Orazio Mori performed arias from Giuseppe Verdi's operas Rigoletto, Don Carlo, Macbeth and Un ballo in maschera, accompanied by his daughter Mro Debora Mori from Milan's Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi.

The second part of the concert was dedicated to famous Italian songs and operettas that included Musica Proibita sung as a duetto by soprano Tiziana Scaciga della Silva and tenor Andrea Bragiotto, Reginella,  Voglio vivere cosi', Chitarra romana; Arrivederci Roma; Firenze Sogna, and lively selections from the popular operettas Cin ci la'; Il paese dei campanelli; Al Cavallino bianco; La principessa della Czarda and La Duchessa del Bal Tabarin with the famous duetto performed by popular comedian Walter Rubboli and soprano Tiziana Scaciga della Silva.

Albert G Storace made introductory comments explaining the musical and artistic values of the selections and the concert was organized by Fiesole Artistic Productions with the collaboration of the Italian Cultural Institute and the Embassy of Italy.
