Malta Film Commission launches a new call for tenders for training institutions

Training institutions interested in providing training services related to the film servicing industry in Malta have until Friday 26 July to submit their best bid under the tenders process being conducted by the Malta Film Commission.

These tenders are part of the European Social Fund Project ‘Re-skilling of workers for the Local Film Industry’, which aim is to increase the adaptability and employability of individuals aged 16 and over and to contribute with the restructuring of the economy within the cultural and creative industry.

Film Commissioner, Peter Busuttil, pointed out that one of the primary goals of the Malta Film Commission is to increase the number of persons adequately skilled in the filming industry with the potential to raise innovation opportunities in this sector. “The Malta Film Commission apart from promoting Malta as a film location has the objective to implement training and outreach programmes to develop a fully skilled audiovisual workforce.” Mr Busuttil commented.

The training programme consists of compulsory and optional courses. Depending on the course of their choice participants will become qualified in the module chosen at Malta Qualification Framework (MQF) Level 1.

The tenders which have just been issued are part of the Optional Module 2 which includes the following Administrative Courses: Wardrobe Management for the Film and Television Industries; Location Management/Location Scouting; Film Administration/Production Skills for the Film and Television Industries; Props Procurement and Props and Scenary Assistant for the Film and Television Industries.

Interested parties are to collect the relevant tender document form from the Malta Film Commission Office, Caraffa Stores, Cottonera Waterfront, Vittoriosa, during office hours. Tenders can be also downloaded directly from the Malta Film Commission websitehttp://www.mfc.com.mt/page.asp?n=tenders. Tenders must be submitted in English by recorded or hand delivery and deposited at the Malta Film Commission Office before 26th July 2013.
