Heroin and half a bottle of methadone were found hidden underneath a van’s dashboard this afternoon at Corradino prison, the government said in a statement issued by the DOI.

The van was parked in the confines of the prison and is used to provide electronic supplies.

The driver of the van has been arrested.

This find follows the case of two prison officials who were found to have traces of cocaine in their urine after surprise tests were ordered by the Home Affairs Ministry.
