The government announced the setting up of the Consultative Council for the South of Malta, which is to consider the region’s problems and suggest remedies in a framework of sustainable development leading to a better quality of life.
The council’s work is to be coordinated by the Environment Ministry.
The government’s representative is Silvio Parnis, who will chair the committee. Charlot Cassar is the opposition’s representative, and Nora Macelli the Curia’s. The other members are Angela Abela, Kenneth Abela, Jason Bonnici, Lino Bugeja, Graziella Cavlan, Sandro Chetcuti, Peter Cordina and Josie Muscat.
