The seventh personal exhibition of the artist Chris Ebejer is being held at the Banca Giuratale in the heart of Victoria, seven years after his last exhibition in the island of Gozo.
The theme chosen for this exhibition is Winter Light, a title inspired from light as a source of hope in the dark; an allegory of the birth of Christ coming as a new light onto this world, instilling hope in the darkness. Hence, this is a sacred art exhibition focused on the Nativity topic set in the relative festive season.
Rather than focusing on one style, Mr Ebejer gives us a taste of diversity reflective of his dynamic style, using and combining several materials and ideas. The nature of his eclectic artwork is amply demonstrated in this exhibition, in the variety of styles and the range of materials used by the artist. This collection includes sculptures in terracotta, bronze, ceramics, and a number of sketches.
The exhibition is being organised by the Gozo Cultural Centre within the Ministry for Gozo at the historic building of Banca Giuratale, Independence Square, (It-Tokk) Victoria and is open to the public daily from Monday to Friday from 8am to 3pm, Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 12noon, until 7 January.
