Air Malta has announced an extra four services from Cardiff Airport.
The additional flights will start on Tuesday April 8, four weeks earlier than originally planned, to satisfy expected public demand over the Spring/ Easter period.
The direct flights from Cardiff Airport to Malta are programmed to depart every Tuesday through to October 21.
Jon Horne, Cardiff Airport’s Chief Executive, said: “It’s great that Air Malta is expanding its operation from Cardiff, helping to continue the strong historic links that exist between the island and Wales.
"Air Malta is one of six national airlines with a presence at Cardiff and, with passenger numbers last month showing a 17% year on year increase, this all adds to the growth of the airport.”
Air Malta has also announced good news for Norwich travelers by adding an extra four departures as a prelude to their summer 2014 charter season.
The additional flights on this popular route will commence on Tuesday 8th April, four weeks earlier than originally planned to satisfy expected public demand over the Spring/Easter period. The direct flights from Norwich airport to Malta are programmed to depart weekly through to 21st October.
Andrew Bell, the airport’s Chief Executive commented: “Malta is an exceptionally popular destination from our region and we are pleased that Air Malta has taken the decision to increase their services and enhance the travel options from Norwich International in the Spring of 2014”.
Air Malta commented that there is a noticeable increase in demand for shoulder and off-peak holidays, and the climate during the early-spring season should provide the right ambiance to discover the many interesting sites and people within the Maltese islands.
With these added departures and a reduction in traveling time and costs by flying direct from/to an airport closer to home, regular visitors and also new ones now have more opportunity to fly with Air Malta to the Maltese islands, the airline that truly knows and reflects the motto “Flying the Pride of Malta”.
Air Malta has also announced two flights a week to Parma as from 2 June, The flights will be departing from Malta at 12.15pm on Mondays and at 8.45am on Thursdays.
Finally, Air Malta is to fly three times a week to Venice, as from 2 June, with the flights taking place on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
