Two female artists, Sue Nightingale and Rachel Galea, have joined forces to present a high calibre exhibition of their recent works at the Culture Office Foyer, Banca Giuratale, Victoria. The exhibition, baptised as Two of a kind, brings together two completely different scenarios.

Ms Nightingale’s paintings pay tribute to the horse, an animal which in Nightingale’s own words have painted and loved since she was seven, paintings that seem to have been finished with no effort at all, like a flowing river. When one looks closely at Sue’s paintings one can feel a positive energy within himself. The horse, painted in her works represents splendid features of this most gorgeous animal.

On the other side of the coin, Ms Galea, an artist in her own style, is presenting a new collection of expressive landscape paintings, featuring the local landscape with its wayside chapels, valleys and the Mediterranean Sea. One cannot help notice the beautiful countryside with Gozitan villages in the background. Rachel’s works are a dialogue with the soul through her expressive landscapes.

The evening kicked off with an introduction by Charles Hili, who, on behalf of the Gozo Culture Section within the Ministry for Gozo, welcomed the large crowd present for the exhibition’s inauguration, which was officially opened by the Gozo Minister Dr Anton Refalo.
