One success after another has proudly led the Helping Hands Group (VO/0286) to celebrate its 17th anniversary of musical productions. The Helping Hands Group – a non-profit organisation of children, youths and adults have excelled year after year with a number of musicals namely Jesus Christ Superstar (1997), Les Miserables (Highlights – 1998), Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (1999), The Best of Musicals (2001), Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (2003), The Scarlet Pimpernel (Malta Premier 2004), A Night with the Musicals (2005) and last but definitely not least LesMisSaigonGuerre (2006) staged both in Gozo and later in Malta (July 2006) at the Malta Hilton and Jesus Christ Superstar (2007).
This year, The Helping Hands Group has yet another something special in store. A spectacular rendering of one of the most popular family musicals of all time ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’. This show will be staged at the Oratory Don Bosco, Victoria Gozo on the 29th and 30th March 2014 at 7.30p.m and 2.40p.m. respectively.
This musical spectacle is one that definitely should not be missed. A LIVE orchestra playing authentic West End arrangements will be directed by Mro. Joseph Grech. This orchestra will be complimented by a large number of actors, singers, choristers and stage crew including The Helping Hands Group Chorus. A well known cast of singers will assure an unforgettable evening. A celebrity cast includes Ludwig Galea in the part of Joseph and Pamela Bezzina in the part of the Narrator and many, many others.
For the above production, rights have been granted from The Really Useful and Group – London. Authentic West End London Orchestra Arrangements have been hired for this production.
It is important to note that in this year’s performance all profits are to be donated to ‘Puttinu Cares’.
Such an incredible kaleidoscope of music, entertainment, and talent is one not to be missed for it is assured to leave an imprint in your minds and hearts forever. It is no coincidence the group decided to stage this musical! In fact it is one of the first musicals the group ever produced that kick-started 17 years of a string of successes establishing itself in the local musical scene as one of the major producers of spectacular events in Gozo and last year even in Malta.
