Pokerlistings is organizing the Mediterranean's Largest Poker Tournament from at the Hilton Hotel, Grand Masters Suite.

This is the 3 rd year Pokerlistings is running such an international poker tournament with more than 1,000 local and foreign poker players battling for a final prize of €500,000, with a buy-in of €550.

The 2013 Battle of Malta made history as the biggest poker tournament ever held on Malta with a record 888 entries, a €430,000 prize pool and, importantly, an amazing atmosphere at the friendliest, high-value poker tournament in Europe.

For 2014 the stakes have been upped with a massive €500,000 guaranteed prize pool, bigger and better parties, a BOM Grandmaster high roller event and more. The event started yesterday and will go on until Sunday and the number of participants has grown to over 1,100.

In just three years the Battle of Malta has continued to expand its reach well past the island and across the world.

Players from virtually every country in Europe can be found on the player list today along with a number of long-distance visitors from the US and Canada.

As usual Italians, Scandinavians and Brits are out in force but the vibe is decidely international.
