With national airline Air Malta set to fall foul of its breakeven deadline, 35% of respondents are in agreement with the possibility of a partial privatisation of the airline.
The poll on www.independent.com.mt asked readers whether they agree with the partial privatisation of Air Malta, whether a separate restructuring exercise should be held, or if the government should challenge the European Union in order to be able to further subsidise Air Malta.
34.68% agreed with the partial privatisation option, while 37.23% said they would prefer to see another restructuring exercise being carried out. 21.38% disagree with any form of privatisation, and 6.7% agree with the option of challenging the EU's state aid rules so as to subsidise the airline.
