A plastic container filled with what is thought to be cannabis resin washed up ashore in Zonqor Point, Marsascala this morning.

The police said they received an anonymous call at around 8.45am informing them about the find.  “The Police went immediately on site and a container containing drugs, possibly Cannabis resin was found. The container was recovered by the Police for further investigations.”

Duty Magistrate Gabriella Vella appointed several experts to assist her in Magesterial Inquiry. Police investigations are still underway.

This was the second time in a week that drugs were recovered from the sea. According to reports divers found a container with some 20 kilos of cannabis resin off Xwejni Bay in Gozo on Tuesday.
