Tunisian man accused of threatening violence against his wife

A Tunisian man living in Birzebbugia who today was accused of threatening to use violence against his wife was granted bail by a Magistrate's court.

The incident occurred on 16 August, at 4.10 am. The prosecution also requested a protection order, which was later granted, and he is not allowed to approach his wife or her family. He will be staying with a friend rather than in the family home.

Bail was granted and he must report to the Qawra police station every Monday and Thursday.

Magistrate Audrey Demicoli presided and Dr Kris Busietta and Dr Jason Azzopardi appeared for the accused.
