Minister for Finance Edward Scicluna conferred the Certified Public Accountant warrant on 68 applicants, of which 18 also received the Practising Certificate in Auditing. Seven others received the Practising Certificate in Auditing only, having already received the Certified Public Accountant warrant.

During a ceremony held at Hastings Garden, Valletta, Minister Scicluna congratulated the warrant and certificate holders and wished them well in their career or in their further studies.

He briefly touched upon on the Accounting Directive and the Statutory Audit Directive, and said that the necessary legislation will be enacted next year to enable their transposition into Maltese Law.

Present for the ceremony were Mr Charles Rapa, Accountancy Board Chairman, and Mr Martin Spiteri, Board Secretary.
