Pierre Cremona, a 42-year-old Qormi man, has been taken before the courts today, after he was allegedly caught with half a kilogram of cannabis on his car’s passenger seat.
Back in September 2013, Mr Cremona escaped injury when a bomb went off outside a boathouse in Gharmier.
The police also charged him with dangerous driving and causing damage to a police vehicle.
The incident occurred last Wednesday afternoon. The court heard that Mr Cremona had attempted to flee when he saw police surrounding him, hitting an unmarked police vehicle.
He also pleaded not guilty to committing a crime within 100m of a venue frequented by youths, possession of cannabis, damaging a police vehicle, speeding, breaching bail conditions and relapsing.
His request for bail was denied by Magistrate Stafrace Zammit. Inspector Gabriel Micallef prosecuted and lawyers Franco Debono and Marion Camilleri appeared for the defence.
