Three tourists who climbed on the rooftop of St John’s Co-Cathedral in Valletta using scaffolding on the façade, have been fined by court.
The three had attempted to take photos of the sunrise, but ended setting off a burglar alarm instead.
Daniel Eberhard, 25, from Switzerland, Veronika Zakon and Werner Eberle, both 27 from Germany were arrested shortly after. In court, they were charged with unlawful entry into a restricted area.
After they pleaded guilty to the charges, the court fined them €50 each.
