A number of police officers attended a course on domestic violence, aimed to improve the corps’ efficiency when reports of such incidents are submitted.

The course is being followed by officers from the police districts and members of the Vice Squad, the police force said in a statement.

The training is being carried out at the Police Academy, and consists of five two-hour sessions conducted by professionals working at Mount Carmel Hospital, who have a vast experience in dealing with such issues and who are providing the service free of charge.

The first course was held in July and another course is expected to be held in September.
