Faulty batch of tallinja cards reason for ‘limited stock’ of weekly boarding cards

The reason for the “limited stock” of week-long tallinja bus cards was due to a faulty batch.

A spokesman for Malta Public Transport told The Malta Independent that the weekly bus cards should be issued later this week. Currently, only two-hour tickets are available for commuters.

Last week, tourists who spoke to this newsroom said that they were astonished to learn that there were no weekly tickets available at the airport upon their arrival, especially when the tallinja bus card service was only launched recently.

This newsroom called the Malta Public Transport customer care unit which deals with such issues and asked whether the weekly bus card tickets are out of stock, to which a customer care agent replied in the affirmative. Yesterday, this newsroom once again asked whether the tickets are still out of stock to which the operator replied in the affirmative.

The tallinja card services were launched on 1 July.
