A week after former PL treasurer Joe Sammut was charged with fraud, misappropriation of funds, money laundering and falsifying documentation leading to illegal issuing of Libyan visas, the Prime Minister has remained silent, the Nationalist Party said in a statement.
This revelation of institutionalised corruption continues to add to the list of scandals involving the government, it said.
The PN said that Prime Minister Joseph Muscat has so far failed to inform the public on whether the visas and residency permits will be revoked and whether the hundreds, if not thousands, of individuals who are in Malta illegally have been identified.
Dr Muscat has also failed to open up an inquiry to investigate the institutionalised corruption. His silence raises a lot of questions, the PN said.
