Foreign Minister George Vella today was discharged from Mater Dei Hospital after undergoing cardiac intervention earlier this week.

He will be continuing his recovery at home before progressively returning to his official duties.

In a statement, Dr Vella thanked Prof. Alex Manche, Prof. Robert Xuereb, Prof. Brendan Caruana Montaldo and their teams for the attention, professionalism and dedication.

He also thanked the staff in wards CICU and CSW and all the workers at Mater Dei Hospital for their care.
