One cruise ship arrived in Gozo today, with another set to arrive tomorrow, the Gozo Ministry said in a statement.

The Minister explained that 800 passengers are aboard the liners, the second of which, called the Seabourn Sojourn, will arrive tomorrow

"These arrivals mean more work for Gozitan businesses, which results in more jobs as has already been seen in a number of sectors including the hotel and restaurant industries," the Ministry said

The Minister said that his aim is to improve accessibility and strengthen the tourism product in order for more people to choose Gozo as their destination. He expressed his satisfaction at the number of tourists who came to the island.

Gozo Minister Anton Refalo toured the liner Europa 2 and was greeted by Captain Ulf Wolter. "This liner is classified as a 5-star-plus vessel by the Berlitz Cruise Guide 2015. The liner is operated by Hapag Lloyd, represented in Malta by Mifsud Brothers Ltd," the Ministry said. The ship carries 500 passengers and 370 crew members.

The Seabourn Sojourn is operated by Seabourne, whose Maltese agent's are also Mifsud Brothers Ltd.

This will be the fifth time the vessel docked in Gozo over the past months, the Ministry said.
