The Teatru Astra will be presenting its first ever live musical production Grease - The Musical. Regarded as one of the most popular musicals of all time and one of the longest running productions in Broadway, it propelled John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John to worldwide popularity.

Also a major box office hit on the West End, Grease will dance its way on the Teatru Astra stage this April. It will be under the expert musical direction of Mro Sigmund Mifsud with Julie Zahra as voice coach. Choreography by Nathalie Scortino and Chris Gatt will handle directing duties.

Once more Teatru Astra is seeking to break new ground in Gozo, by creating an opportunity for fresh young talent to take centre stage in this new take of this evergreen musical.

Applications for auditions are now open. The call is for all parts, main and chorus parts. The call is for people aged 18 to 28, can sing and dance and enjoy rock 'n' roll and a great love story. There are also four non-singing parts for actors aged 40 and over. Application forms can be downloaded from www.lastella.com.mt. Auditions will be held at the Teatru Astra on Wednesday, 10 February, a public holiday. It is recommended that those interested are to apply in advance to be given an appointment.
