Peppi Azzopardi insists Xarabank gives equal number of seating tickets to PL, PN

Xarabank presenter Peppi Azzopardi insists that the Labour Party and Nationalist Party are given an equal number of tickets to give out to their supporters to attend the programme as part of the audience.

His reaction comes in the wake of protests that, last Friday, there was an overwhelmingly pro-Labour audience during the interview carried out with former parliamentary secretary Michael Falzon, which was followed by a debate on the issue regarding his resignation.

Writing on the comments board of The Malta Independent, Mr Azzopardi said that the producers hand out the same number of tickets. “If the PN does not make use of its share, then we have nothing to do with that.” We have never been part of a conspiracy with anyone, he added.

He admitted that however there is a small number of people whose intention is to disrupt the debate. “This is something that we are tackling seriously,” he said.

He denied allegations that there is interference from Castille on what subjects are tackled or who is invited to take part in the programme. If anyone can prove otherwise “I will immediately resign from Xarabank,” he said.
