Following the publication of a call for proposals for the design and build of an artistic traditional Maltese crib (presepju) purposely manufactured for external display at St Peter’s Square during the 2016 Christmas period, the work submitted by Manwel Grech from Gozo has been chosen after a rigorous selection process.
As specified in the call, results were transmitted to the Holy See that confirmed the choice made by the Evaluation Committee appointed by the Minister responsible for Culture. The local evaluation process was managed by the Government in collaboration with the Maltese Curia.
The chosen work will now go through the necessary reviews in order to establish timeframes for the completion of the project and related technicalities.
