Tuesday, 2 February 2016, 19:25 Last update: about 11 years ago

Principal Permanent Secretary and Cabinet Secretary, Mario Cutajar, announced that the Chief Information Officers of the Ministries shall now be under a new structure forming an integral part of Civil Service. This was announced during a conference for CIOs as part of Civil Service Week.

Due to this new agreement, CIOs will be in a better position to implement their vision for Civil Services 24 hours a day, all year round, according to Mr Cutajar. This will be made possible with full coordination between the CIOs and their respective Permanent Secretaries.

Mr Cutajar also spoke about the need to simplify online forms and how, due to this change, the entire process will be done in a more harmonised way. The next steps are to found a 'one stop shop online' and a 'mobile app' in 2017.

During the conference there was also talk of regional centres to aid servizz.org as well as services being offered to business owners.
