The Dar il-Hanin Samaritan Project at Santa Venera  was awarded the Grand Prix at the XVI World Triennial of Architecture Interarch 2015. This Conference Centre and Meditation Garden was commissioned by the Society of Christian Doctrine (M.U.S.E.U.M.) founded by Saint George Preca.  It is designed by architect Richard England who conceived the complex as an oasis of peace, a magical realm. A book on the project has now been published on the project about which Daniel Libeskind, the architect of Ground Zero, who visited the Dar il-Hanin Samaritan Complex wrote the following: "On my visit to Malta I had the good fortune to visit one of the latest projects of Richard England, Dar il-Hanin Samaritan. This amazing oasis of peace is truly a remarkable expression of sacred architecture. With astonishing effect this complex work expresses a dreamlike state in which geometry, material and perspective create a dazzling series of choreographic movements. In this structure Richard England reveals himself as a master of connecting the sacred and the profane". After a good browse through this well-produced book you will want to visit this oasis of peace at Santa Venera.  If you haven't yet discovered it try and find an excuse to do so for in Alvar Aalto's words: "The ultimate goal of the architect is to build an earthly paradise for people."
